Our story

Bake Sale Customs was baked and created in 2018 shortly after coming out of culinary school. We wanted to create a space where intricate designs, special request and memorable flavors could collaborate into something special. Bake Sale Customs is an afro-latina owned business thriving in the heart of Des Moines, Iowa. It is our mission to create a memory with each bite we offer to you.

The Pastry Chef

Chef Ciarra Bryson-Welch (she/her) the owner of BSC and Sugar Symphony attended the culinary school at the ICI to further her education after high school. During that time the passion for desserts was created. Chef Welch started her journey in a Hyvee bakery and now is an award winning cake decorator as well as an award winning chef instructor at Central Campus. Chef W also teaches cake decorating to all ages along side her full time position.
